UB40 Feat. Ali Astro Mickey

This multiracial group of working-class friends from Birmingham would have never imagined, back in 1978, that they would become the most successful reggae band in the word. Having their band name been inspired by the name of the British forms for unemployed people that its eight members used to fill every week, UB40 has sold seventy million albums in almost four decades of career path and has placed around fifty songs on UK's greatest hits lists. Their own versions of "Red Red Wine" (Neil Diamond) and "Can not help falling from love" (Elvis Presley) are among the most popular songs of the 80s, and thanks to them, millions of people around the world have become familiar with Jamaican music. They have a new album on the way and will bring to us their everlasting classics. Ever since the original founding members of UB40 Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey rejoined three years ago, they have been touring around the world having concerts in North and South America, Nigeria, South Africa, Dubai, Papua, Papua New Guinea and Europe. "We've had three exceptional years on the road", says Ali, "In the United States we are playing in great places that we visited for the last time twenty years ago. For me, it's all about promoting reggae. At the end of the day, our fans do not care about what happens behind the scenes. They only care about music, and that is what we are giving them. We are having a great time and we are doing it in our own style". This event is co-produced with Trui Espectacles. August 14th, 2018 in Port Adriano at 10:00 pm (Doors open at 7:00 pm).
