Josep Carreras

Josep Carreras, one of the greatest exponents of the world lyric, will participate at the Port Adriano Music Festival. The tenor will be accompanied by soprano Sabina Puértolas and the Arts Symphony Ensemble orchestra led by David Giménez. Since he began his professional career in 1970 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona with "Nabucco" and "Lucrecia Borgia ", the meteoric career of the tenor made him debut very young in the most important theatres and festivals in the world. Throughout his career he has collaborated with prestigious conductors such as Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Leonard Bernestein and Zubin Mehta, among others. His extensive discography includes more than a hundred and fifty recordings, among which fifty complete operas, oratorios and classical recitals, as well as popular music. In addition to his operatic activity, it is worth mentioning his frequent concerts in auditoriums around the world. His extensive repertoire in this field brings together over six hundred titles of the most diverse styles, from baroque to contemporary music. Some of his other professional projects include the musical direction of the Olympic Games of Barcelona in 1992 and the concerts of the Three Tenors joining Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. Since 1988, he has been presiding the Josep Carreras International Foundation for the Fight against Leukemia. This foundation is today, without a doubt, one of his main priorities. The event will be on July 21st, 2018 at Port Adriano at 9.30pm.
