George Benson

Jumping from the pure world of jazz to stardom is a trick that not many can perform. George Benson is one of the very few artists that has managed to do it, from his début as a brilliant instrumental jazz guitarist to his current status as a jazz-pop singer... without losing his outstanding ability with the six-string instrument. During his 50-year career, the American artist has played for hundreds of millions of fans across the world and has received ten Grammy awards, becoming the first successful crossover jazz-soul-pop artist. Benson is not just one of the best guitarists in the history of jazz, he is also an incredibly versatile musician that can play swing, bebop, rhythm’n’blues, soul and pop with exquisite taste. Inspired by legendary guitarists such as Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery, he created his own unique style. As a singer, he is comparable to great black voices such as Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. His latest work is “Inspiration. A Tribute To Nat King Cole” (2013), and in July he will publish his memoirs, “Benson: The Autobiography”. The guitarist and singer will arrive in Port Adriano as part of his international tour that will then take him to England and France, accompanied by Stanley Banks (bass), David Garfield (keyboards and music director), Thom Hall (keyboards), Michael O’Neill (guitar and voice), Khari Parker (drums) and Lilliana de los Reyes (percussion and voice). Important advise: The only valid tickets for the concerts of Port Adriano will be only tickets that have been acquired through the official channels: www.entradas.com https://portadriano.koobin.com/ Discos Oh!
